Harry Potter and the Polish Honey Vodka
Despite Evany's warning that the new Harry Potter movie is nothing like Y Tu Mama Tambien, Eli and I went to see it tonight, and what do you know? It was highly enjoyable. I had super low expectations- after all, the first two HPs were nothing but lengthy Saturday morning cartoons, forgotten in an instant, but this one had nice moments of dark humor, and aside from the werewolf, the special effects and the casting were good. (For some insane reason, I misremembered the casting of Ron Weasley's mother in the first one as Miranda Richardson. (seriously, wouldn't she have been hot? oh. I guess hotness isn't what they were after.)
After all the popcorn, the caramel-colored carbonated sugar beverage, and two and a half hours of entertainment, we couldn't bear to go home again, so we helped ourselves to a couple seats at a conveniently-timed showing of Shrek 2, which was about as fluffy as expected, and during which we drank a bit of Krupnik, which helped things get funnier. Getting stuck in the first row of seats was unfortunate, but after a few minutes, the motion sickness passed and I felt fine. Bad kids who sneak into movies shouldn't complain, it's true.
